Double Bill: Needle Factory and Owen Davey
Turns, Emma Lane and OD Davey
Turns is an improvised dance and video installation by Emma Lane and OD Davey that explores transformations and relations between fixed and unfixed bodies. Emma Lane is a dancer for Eliot Smith Dance and trained at Trinity Laban, completing her Masters with Joss Arnott Emergence Dance here in Manchester. The work’s video and sound are designed by Davey, with additional music by collaborators Sim Hutchins and Infinite Potato.
Needle Factory
‘Needle Factory (Freddy Wallace) creates live performances utilising sewing machines processed by modular synthesis to create a rhythmic ambience informed by personal memories while invoking industrial histories and gender politics.’

Each Thursday as part of the Manchester Open Exhibition we will be hosting a series of takeovers and interventions by a variety of artists, groups and performers. Including performance work submitted for the Manchester Open, and invited artistic responses.
The gallery will be open until 21:00 on Thursday evenings so you can enjoy the exhibition outside of standard gallery opening times.
