Put your questions to award-winning director and rising star, Blanche McIntyre, in this online Q&A.
Having made her name at some of Britain’s best touring companies, Blanche comes to HOME to direct Aeschylus’ masterful trilogy, The Oresteia.
Her radical stripped back production of Ted Hughes’ version of the play – in which terrible secrets are handed down through the generations in a bloody chain of murder and revenge – sees citizens of Manchester taking the role of the chorus, and an ensemble of actors playing multiple roles that cross generations and genders.
Speaking about the play, Blanche said: “This is a great civic drama about the movement of power from the few to the many. It feels right to be doing this in Manchester.”
During the Q&A, Blanche will talk more about the production and give advice to anyone interested in directing.
To take part, tweet your questions to @HOME_mcr using the hashtag #AskBlanche then watch the Q&A live on this page (scroll down for the video player) or our YouTube channel on Thu 29 Oct at 13:00. A recording will also be available afterwards.
The Oresteia runs from Fri 23 Oct 2015 – Sat 14 Nov 2015. Find out more and book tickets here.
