Since it began ¡Viva! has always sought to screen every new film by Spain’s one time ‘enfant terrible’ Álex de la Iglesia. This year will be no exception as we present his latest, El Bar. This talk will explore the director’s extensive filmography, tracing his career from its anarchic beginnings to his current position as one of Spain’s most consistently popular filmmakers.
Led by Dr Andy Willis, Professor of Film Studies, University of Salford, and HOME’s Senior Visiting Curator: Film.
This talk will be BSL interpreted. BSL interpreters for the festival will be Alex McDonald and Siobhán Rocks.
After the talk a selection of wines will be generously provided by Morgenrot – show your ticket at the stand next to the Cinema Bar for your free taster!
