One Hour Intro: Buster Keaton and The General

Ninety years ago, in the summer of 1926, the comedian and filmmaker Buster Keaton shot what was to become his most famous movie, The General. To celebrate the publication of the BFI Film Classics volume on The General, author Peter Kramer will join us to discuss the making of the film, its initial critical reception, its thematic and stylistic characteristics as well as Keaton’s wider career and cinematic legacy.
