No Boundaries is the arts industry annual conference with a focus on presenting questions and challenging new ideas on the role of arts and culture, finding positive approaches to influence change and support the sector’s growth in a rapidly changing, tumultuous world.
The themes for the 2017 conference will explore all aspects of what has made 2016 such an unknown quantity. No Boundaries brings together a diverse range of contributors over two days to offer provocations and perspectives that enable delegates to take stock of what is happening now, and what might well be required in the future.
Amongst the first wave of speakers confirmed to speak are;
- Rufus Norris, Artistic Director, National Theatre,
- Jess Thom, co-founder, Touretteshero
- Evie Manning, Artistic Director, Common Wealth Nikesh Shukla, author and editor, The Good Immigrant
- Frances Morris, Director, Tate Modern
- Hammad Nassar, Hong Kong-based curator, Asia Art Archive Vicky Pryce, leading economist and co-author of It’s The Economy, Stupid: Economics for Voters
- Claire Doherty, Director, Situations
View the full list of contributors, book your delegate pass or apply for an artist bursary on the No Boundaries website. Further announcements on updates to the contributor programme will be made over the next few months.
The conference format live-links two venues as one conference. HOME will be partnered with Hull Truck Theatre, with the event forming part of the Hull UK City of Culture 2017 programme. By providing the conference over two locations, numbers can be limited in each space to allow for an informal atmosphere where discussion, networking and some innovative, entertaining surprises are integral to the event.
Contributors are split between both sites. Broadcast quality technology is employed to stream all the provocations between the sites. Everything is streamed live as fully accessible broadcasts through the No Boundaries website, and immediately available for playback for delegates and the digital audience.
No Boundaries is supported by Arts Council England and the British Council as part of their commitment to convene and strengthen cultural organisations in the UK and internationally. By sharing provocative ideas from a diverse range of sources, new models, methods and collaborations will grow to shape the future of the arts.
Artist Bursaries supported by University of Salford.
