Narratives of Our Time

Join Celebrating Syria, Ana Lucia Cuevas, Underbank Studios and Short Supply with a performance by mandla rae, for a discussion around British Art Show 9.

HOME brings together artists, charities, academics and collectives to discuss censorship, politics, and the role of art and the artist as an action for social change.

Together in conversation will be Mustafa Alachkar (Rethink Rebuild/Celebrating Syria), Ana Lucia Cuevas (Film Director, writer, visual artist, campaigner), Luca Shaw and Heather Chambers of Underbank Studios and Mollie Balshaw and Rebecca Beasley of Short Supply.

As part of this event, we have a unique and special performance from queer Zimbabwean writer, performer and curator mandla rae who has created this one-off commission in response to the themes and ideas around the British Art Show 9.

This will an opportunity to be part of the narrative as it unfolds in the art gallery, explore other’s perspectives, and join in the conversation. Everybody is welcome.

This event is free but please book as spaces within the gallery are limited.
