Narrative, Representation….and Morality?

This event deals with What Richard Did, one of the most acclaimed films of 2013 in the UK. The film has an accessible theme and content – teen rivalries and peer group relationships – but also an interesting approach via narrative development and representation strategies, especially in terms of how much the audience needs to be told about characters. Further, it asks questions about personal morality. What would you do in Richard’s position? Analysis of the film will focus on the key concepts of Narrative, Genre and Representation. It will be suitable for A2 students of Film & Media consolidating their understanding of Key Concepts.

This session will be led by Roy Stafford, Freelance Film Educator.
