Ross Ainslie and Ali Hutton, two of Scotland’s most prominent musicians, bring together original compositions ranging from high octane jigs and reels to beautifully melodic slow airs. With an arsenal of bagpipes, whistles, guitars, cittern, drums, and electronics, they create a masterful blend of the old and the new.

Singer-songwriter Maz O’Connor grew up in the wild Lake District of the Romantic Poets, studied at Cambridge, lives in London, and has roots in Ireland. These diverse influences make her songwriting unique, whilst her captivating voice provides the perfect vehicle for her powerful songs.

This event is part of Manchester Folk Festival – an urban folk festival. It takes place from 15-20 October 2019, in and around HOME and the city centre. Over the autumn weekend, they present an exhilarating range of events, with the spotlight on contemporary and traditional English folk music.
