Maisie Pritchard Make Yourself at HOME with Cardboard Workshop

Constructing Pots

Work with artist Maisie Pritchard to create sculptural objects using cardboard in this playful workshop where you will exchange skills, learn something new and find new ways of seeing everyday materials and objects. In this workshop, you will use cardboard recyclables as a way to prototype or design vessels for the home. The session will focus on transforming everyday waste into sculptural forms, considering the shape and textural properties of the existing materials to design domestic ware.

You are invited to engage with the space, objects and the materials – to respond, participate and contribute to the idea of a ‘make space’. Together we will champion collective making, participation, and the need for more creative spaces.

Objects made during the workshops will be displayed in the HOME Arches during PUSH Festival, on furniture specifically designed and built by the artist. This bespoke sculptural display unit invites function and play, transforming Arch 3 into a studio, materials store, tool shed, workshop and exhibition display.

The pieces will also be part of an exhibition in the HOME Arches windows on Whitworth Street West in Spring 2025. Participants of the workshops will be able to collect the sculptures they made after this exhibition.

During the festival, Maisie will host three workshops, each with a focus on a different material. Feel free to attend as many workshops as you want.
