Do you love the shared experience of discovering films? Ever wonder who gets to choose what the audience see on screen and what work goes on behind the scene to make sure you have a fantastic experience? Welcome to the world of film exhibition!

Meet the exhibitors who are shaking up what and how we watch films! We are Parable founders and the Director of Birds Eye View share why they are disrupting film exhibition. From shifting the way we see cinemas and elevating the experience of watching films, to bringing the stories they want to see to the big screen. Want to know what they think the next big shake up for the industry could be and how you could play a role? Join our host Mikaela Smith, Program Manager from Showroom Cinema and guests, to find out.

About the guests

We Are Parable is an award winning film exhibition company founded by Anthony and Teanne Andrews.

Formed in 2013, they provide audiences around the UK with opportunities to respond to and experience Black cinema in culturally relevant, memorable and innovative ways, by screening upcoming, cult and classic films that celebrate Black culture on screen, whilst creating truly unforgettable experiences.

Birds Eye View brings a wider perspective of the world through championing cinema by women & non-binary filmmakers. Their mission is to advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion in film by fostering a community for those who make, show, release and watch them.

This activity is part of the UK-wide BFI Film Academy programme and is supported using funds from the National Lottery #NationalLottery @bfifilmacademy.
