Kokomo City Q&A

Event/ The screening on Fri 4 Aug, 18:10 will be followed by a post-screening panel discussion about heteronormativity and respectability politics in Black communities, hosted by Kuchenga (she/her) the author of forthcoming historical novel The Library Thief, and a journalist and speaker with work on many media platforms including Stylist, British Vogue and Netflix. Panellists include AJ (they/them) a multidisciplinary storyteller using hope, feeling, and fantasy to explore what it means to listen to yourself, when having a voice hasn’t always been your reality, and Tegan (they/she), a writer, raised in a fundamentalist religious family. Together, they explore in their writing respectability, authoritarianism, cisnormativity, heteronormativity, conformity, parenting, and mental health.
