Keynote Talk/ Julie Meyer

What can the creative sector learn from the technology sector, and how can it make itself more attractive to investors? Find out at an inspiring keynote talk from Julie Meyer, one of the most prominent female entrepreneurs in the UK.

Meyer is CEO and founder of Ariadne Capital, a highly successful investment and advisory firm for entrepreneurs in technology and new media whose client roster includes Skype. She has advised companies such as Lastminute.com on building their teams, raising capital and establishing themselves internationally. She also initiated First Tuesday – a series of networking events for venture capitalists and dot com entrepreneurs, which expanded into 17 cities across Europe before being sold as a business for £33 million. But you may be more familiar with her as one of the dragons on the BBC Dragons’ Den online!

In her keynote talk, Meyer will be joined by David Scholtz, Associate Director at Ariadne Capital. Sharing their years of experience within technology, new media and investment, together they will explore:

  • how the creative and technology sectors can work together to maximise their respective advantages
  • how technology’s role in influence, distribution and value creation can be an enabler of creativity
  • and what the creative sector can learn from technology’s successes

Based on Meyer and Sholtz’s wealth of experience and with plenty of examples, this keynote talk will give creative entrepreneurs and members of creative organisations plenty of ideas on how the creative sector can make itself more attractive to investment opportunities and to the whole technology ecosystem in general.
