Join Jai Chuhan and South Asian dance artist Bisakha Sarker for the first in a series of special events, taking place as part of Jai’s open studio for Asia Triennial Manchester.
Bisakha Sarker, Artistic Director of Chaturangan, will perform as Jai adds to her evolving sculptural installation, exploring dynamic relations between the human body and objects such as natural and machine forms.

Bisakha Sarker is a South Asian dance artist and Artistic Director of Chaturangan. Bisakha has developed a unique dance expression, influenced by champions of Indian dance Uday Shanker and Dr Manjusree Chaki Sirker. Bisakha’s pioneering work has broadened appreciation and application of Indian dance, weaving it into areas including in the fields of disability, ageing and wellbeing.
Innovative dance performances by Bisakha include a commission by the Baring Foundation ‘Late Style’ initiative and performance at the (B)old festival, South Bank, London (2018).
