Here & Now Contemporary British Animation + Q&A

Manchester Animation Festival, which is hosted annually at HOME, has announced the first of a series of online events leading up to the main festival in November. The first of these is a stylish selection of contemporary British Animated Shorts films made in the UK in 2019/20.

Available online for one week from the 31 July. Ticket holders can join them for a free live Q&A with the directors on the 31 July at 19:30 BST

Bursting with energy and showcasing a diverse range of voices and techniques this screening shows off inventive stories that will stay with you for years to come. Curated from a long list of films selected by ABAE (Alliance of British Animation Exhibitors) as the best in the UK this screening proudly demonstrates the creative flair and international reach that UK films are known for. This screening includes BAFTA 2020 Short Animation winner Grandad Was a Romantic and nominee In Her Boots as well as well as BAFTA Scotland 2019 Animation nominee 4:3.

This screening is recommended for people aged 15 years old and over.

Tickets are “pay what you can” with a recommended price of £5 to help support the festival, filmmakers and future events like this.
