Based on François Bégaudeau’s own teaching experiences from his autobiographical book Entre les murs, the film presents the conflicts and culture clashes within the school with meticulously observed detail. Superbly naturalistic performances and expertly handled improvised dialogue serve to heighten the documentary feel of this acclaimed drama.
