The Untold Orchestra are a partner for First Street Festival and will be programming the artists you’ll see 1-3 July.
The Untold Orchestra are a collaborative orchestra made up of creative freelancers from across Manchester. Their aim is to play their role in supporting the amazing creativity present in communities across the city, through performances, workshops, collaborations and recording projects.
Recent projects include Nina @ the NIA (a show remembering the legacy of Nina Simone and her 1991 trip to the NIA Centre Hulme), collaborations with various artists including Bill Laurance, DRS, Skittles, The Lottery Winners and more, poetry and dance workshops with various communities in Manchester and the NIA Choir (a soul, blues and R&B choir for women* and non binary people held at the NIAMOS, Hulme).

Beginning life as an indie rock’n roll band and now maturing into a more ambitious outfit, Big Society have appeared on the bills including The Great Escape and a prestigious slot on the bill at Bob Dylan and Neil Young’s Hyde Park show.
18.30 – O’Sapien + Bricky Mortar
Owen O’Sapien is a writer and producer from Hulme, Manchester. With a style bridged between music and poetry, his catalogue is made up of introspective works focusing on past, present and all the scenery that comes along with it.
