Join us for a Q&A with Adam & Paul actor and writer Mark O’Halloran after the Mon 30 April screening of the film, chaired by Festival Programmer Dean Brocklehurst.
Mark O’Halloran is an award-winning writer and actor for stage and screen, and is regarded as one of the most exciting voices in Irish cinema and theatre. He has written two multi-award winning feature films (Adam and Paul, Garage), the RTE TV Series Prosperity and a number of successful stage plays including the 2011 production Trade.
Although an accomplished actor, O’Halloran’s main passion is as a writer where his work explores complex character driven narratives and has a deep appreciation for his native Ireland. He regularly collaborates with director Lenny Abrahamson and Adam and Paul was their debut feature.
When Adam and Paul was released in 2004 it marked the return of working class themes and characters in Irish cinema and signalled a departure from the generic and rural narratives that increasingly dominated Irish film production during the 1990s.
