Filmmaker Meet Up Nov 2024

An informal social where you can meet other members of the filmmaking community and reconnect with old friends and collaborators.

Join us for our filmmaker social, have a chat with other members of the filmmaking community and find your future collaborators.

Open to all manner of people involved in making films whether director, writer, producer or members of the production team.

If networking is your worst nightmare don’t worry, we’ll be on hand if you want to be introduced to people or just want someone to chat to at the start.

We’ll also invite industry professionals or people you might want to chat to.

  • This event is for over 18 only. There are plenty of opportunities for younger filmmakers with our Young Creatives programme (homemcr.org/hyc)

  • About You

    This is only to help us encourage people to meet each other and give other people an idea of who you are. This will not be published online but we’ll circulate it to all attendees so you don’t come in to a room full of strangers you have no idea about.
  • It doesn’t need to be long, nor does it need to be a full professional biography, it is simply to give people an idea of who you are / what you do.
  • Add in any social media handle, website or contact details that you are happy to share with other attendees should they want to get in touch. REMEMBER this will be shared with all the attendees prior to the event.
  • Max. file size: 128 MB.
  • We may do a little focused talk at the start of the event to get disucssion going. If there are any theme you would like to be discussed, or guests you'd think would be great to be there (wether a specific person, an organisation or a "type of guest", let us know)

Unless this event get extrememely oversubscribed, it is very likely you will have a space. We will email all the people who register in advance on Mon 28 Oct to check they are still coming and will confirm you have a space by Wed 30 Oct.

If you register for the event after Fri 1 Nov, we’ll email on monday morning (4 Nov) to confirm. It is more than likely you will have a place but please register as it helps us with the organisation (and getting the right amount of drinks!)

There will be a free drink for you when you arrive (wine or soft drink) and the second floor bar will be open if what’s on offer is not what you want.

For you: we circulate the list before the event so you can see who is there and, if you fancy, plan who you’d like to talk to. Plus it can feel less daunting if you have an idea beforehand!

For us: so we know who you are and can connect people more easily and so we know to order enough refreshements and make sure we don’t go over the room’s capacity.
