Filming the Unfilmable? The role of Live Broadcast in Outdoor work
Panel Discussion,

Live broadcast of arts events has transformed the performing arts sector over the last decade, giving audiences across the country and around the world the opportunity to experience performance of all genres that would not otherwise have been accessible to them.

But what relevance does this exciting new genre have in outdoor work, where the live experience is subject to the multiple influences of the outdoor context; where the weather, landscape and setting are part of the show, and the audience are not sitting quietly in a darkened theatre.

Filming the Unfilmable? The role of Live Broadcast in Outdoor work is a panel discussion that will explore this topic, by bringing together a group of specialists who have incorporated live broadcast of outdoor performance into their work, as artists, directors, producers or broadcast specialists.

From Olympic Ceremonies broadcast to an audience of millions, to live streaming through social media platforms, our panellists will share the challenges and opportunities of filming and broadcasting live outdoor events.

This is the first in a series of Without Walls Talks exploring digital work in the Outdoor Arts sector, stimulating conversation on the topic and building a network of specialists who can help take this discussion forward.

This panel discussion will be chaired by Lina Johansson, Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of the female-led acrobatic theatre company Mimbre.
