Join us for the September edition of our quaterly showcase of short films made by writer, director or producers currently based in the North West. Featuring documentary, animation, drama, comedy and artist films...something for everyone!

From grassroots guerrilla filmmakers to production companies, the film community is thriving in the North West. Join us for an evening screening where you’ll discover a selection of short films that are being produced right here on your doorstep and chat to the filmmakers in the bar afterwards.

The entire programme is selected by a panel of audience members from open submissions.

    Who was Tilly Losch? Dancer, artist, choreographer, lover, wife, muse. Artist film Because Goddess is Never Enough asks questions about biographies of women (and their complex lives) who fall into the footnotes.

    A humorous, effervescent historiography in which a mythological baby, a nail salon, and cinematic portraits combine to show both timely and atemporal tales of gender non-conformity.

    Animated short film about the fear and worries of todays’ young adults living in the 21st century: an age of anxiety.

    Mish is a young deaf woman in need of some points on the Connect App. Graham’s a middle aged man who’s just become a widow. Over four meetings in their local Connect Cafe, they grapple with what it means to care for someone else and for yourself.
