Grab a brew and chat to other filmmakers from the region and fellow Filmed Up attendees.
This event is an opportunity to ask your questions to the filmmakers that were part of the June Filmed Up Screening followed by a social where you can meet fellow filmmakers and film lovers.
The event will take place on zoom. It will be split in 2 halves, each with a Q&A followed by more social chat in smaller groups (in breakout room). We can decide all together if people want to carry on chatting after two “rotations”.
Film teams confirmed so far include the makers of Submerge; Upside; Hand to Hand Combat; Fridge, PACE and Joy Uncensored.
To make the most of the event we recommend to
- Use your full name when you join in on zoom. This is just so we know to let you in from the waiting room as we will have the list of bookers. You can change it afterwards if this is not the name you want displayed on your screen
- Join the event on a computer rather than a phone / tablet
- Be in a quiet (ish) space to limit background noise if you need to chat
- Turn on your video and sound; at least for the social/ networking bit (so only attend in your pyjamas if you are happy for others to see them)
We understand this is not always possible so don’t worry if you can’t do all or some of this, this is just recommendation.
FAQs:
I missed the Filmed Up screening, can I join? Of course! We will also email you a password protected link to the films a couple of days before so you can watch them before the event.
I never manage to speak to the people I want to speak to at online social event. We will email you before the event to know a bit about yourself. Once we have collated everybody’s response, we will send them around and do our best to put you in a room with people you were interested in speaking to. There is no obligation to fill this in if you don’t fancy it.
I don’t fancy the social bit, can I just join for the Q&A?
Yes, just let us know when we send you the email mentioned above and we’ll make sure to leave you out of the social bit.
How long will the event be?
A maximum of 2 hours, shorter if you are all talked out!
Do I need to have downloaded Zoom to attend this event?
You can access the event from your browser (just click on the option join from your browser) but there might be functionalities that don’t work (see the list here)
