National Play Day: Drop-in Family Art Workshop

Come and get stuck into our fun, free creative activities with our family artist facilitators inspired by our current Main Gallery exhibition by Brass Art: rock, quiver and bend

Drop in to have a go at bringing your own wonderful creations to life with the help of our artists for the whole family.

The session will take place between 10am – 12pm on Wed 7 Aug.

Artist Chloe Barlow of Malandra Jacks will run the session, you can find out more information on Malandra Jacks here.

What to expect from the workshop:

The workshop will focus on wonderful ways we can bend and play with light and shadows! The session will start with gathering round for a cozy story time reading of ‘My Shadow’ written by Robert Lewis Stevenson, followed by making your own shadow puppet animal with a colourful, translucent tummy! Then we will take our wonderful shadow puppet animal gang and have a go in front of the lights ourselves at shadow puppetry in the gallery. Take your brand new animal friend home and continue to play with light!

Please note, we will provide all the materials for the session.
