About this week’s DJs
Clint Boon
Clint Boon, is the Inspiral Carpets’ keyboard player/vocalist/songwriter who, since 2004 has become a permanent fixture on the airwaves of Manchester. He has worked as a radio presenter for several Manchester based radio stations, 96.2 The Revolution, XFM Manchester, Radio X, BBC Radio Manchester and XS Manchester. He has presented the drive time show on XS for the last 4 years.
Mark Hogg
Mark has over 30 years’ DJing experience, and has toured the world as one half of DJ duo ‘The Slammin Boys.’ It’s Manchester that Mark calls home and that’s where he made his name. He’s had residencies at Home Nightclub, Club Code, Generation X, Berlin, Elemental, Ampersand, Babushka, Club V, Lazy Lizard, The Living Room, as well as various monthly residencies throughout the UK. He also co-promoted the famous Bank Holiday Sunday Parties that graced many Manchester venues featuring the very best guest DJs One of the highlights of Mark’s career was co-presenting a weekly Manchester radio show on Kiss 102/Galaxy 102.
Mark’s DJ sets contain a genre of Funk, Disco, Edits, Soulful House & Classics which are guaranteed to move any venue, big or small
Danielle Moore
Danielle is lead singer with Nottingham based band Crazy P. Danielle was born in Manchester where she enjoyed music from an early age, until finally buying her own set of decks and playing at nights such as Hot Water Music, Homoelectric and Harter Street Lounge before travelling the world with the band as a solo dj. PLaying all genres of music and enjoying the more soulful side of sounds, Danielle is equally as comfortable in front of a festival crowd or in a sweaty dark basement.
Werkha
Werkha hails from Manchester originally and released his debut EP back in 2012. Following early praise from Gilles Peterson and the like, he we went on to release a series of records for Brighton-imprint Tru Thoughts, including an album in 2015, ‘Colours Of A Red Brick Raft’, and co-writing / producing Bryony Jarman-Pinto’s debut album in 2019. He’s provided remixes for Quantic, Marcos Valles, Dutch Uncles, Andrew Ashong & J-Felix, toured across Europe with Bonobo, Mr Scruff & Chet Faker and is working with poet / singer Keisha Thompson, additionally to composing music for documentaries.
Jamie Groovement (aka Agent J)
Jamie Groovement (aka Agent J) is a regular contributor to the Manchester’s evening soundtrack, a resident at Band On The Wall and co-founder of underground community hip-hop night In The Loop. He shines a light on new independent music with his Groovement blog and is music editor at the award-winning Bonafide magazine. He recently contributed a Block Party mix to BBC 6Music’s Huey show, celebrating 50 years of Marvin Gaye’s What Going On LP. Expect jazz, soul, hip hop and more infused with Latin sounds influenced by his Chilean heritage.
