To celebrate the UK premiere of 24 cines por segundo: Sábanas blancas we are pleased to welcome writer and director Mariela Artiles.
A graduate in Audiovisual Media and Design Studies from the University of Central Lancashire in 1997, Mariela Artiles has an extensive experience of film directing, producing and distributing as well as programming for international film festivals and exhibitors.
In 2003 Mariela formed Candella Films, with the aim of producing and distributing documentaries and fiction for cinema and TV, working with community groups to stimulate a dynamic film culture and a taste for cinematic quality here in the North West, and beyond.
In 2010 she returned to her hometown, Madrid, to direct and produce her latest short film Skye, which premiered in competition at the Seminici International Film Festival, Valladolid.
She completed her first feature length documentary, 24 cines por segundo: Sábanas blancas, at the beginning of 2013.
