This discussion will focus on the place made available for women in the political thrillers of the 1970s. Given the strong presence of women in a number of radical organisations of the decade was similar space made available for their representation on screen? Reference will be made to a number of films screened during States of Danger and Deceit but will also make reference to other works of the period.
An informal and informative discussion with season curator Dr Andy Willis, Professor of Film Studies at the University of Salford and Visiting Curator: Film at HOME, and Dr Kirsty Fairclough, Senior Lecturer in Media and Performance at the University of Salford.
Chaired by Jessie Gibbs, HOME Film Team.
