Whether consciously or not, diasporic and marginalised people use creativity to both navigate and reshape societal norms. In this workshop we will discuss how our creativity can be a tool for empowerment, education, and resistance. Together we will explore our intersectional experiences of migration and racialisation through creative expression and specifically, the medium of zines. Participants will be invited to make their own zines or contribute to a collaborative zine led by Daikon*.
Materials will be provided but feel free to also bring along photographs, drawings, poems etc. that relate to your experiences of racialisation or living in the diaspora.
