Creative Careers – Capturing Dance on Film

This workshop was for filmmakers and dancers who wanted to understand how to work together to capture the beauty and energy of dance and tell new and exciting stories.  From learning about how to direct dancers, to understanding how to duet with a camera, participants worked with a filmmaker and dancers to gain a real practical insight into how to work across art forms, improve each other’s craft, and create something new.

Lead by Sam Arbor, an award-winning filmmaker and graduate of HOME’s BFI Film Academy, and Yandass Ndlovu, a dancer and artist who has performed with Manchester International Festival and Boy Blue.   Together they have created yandass.mov (London Short Film Festival), Let’s Go (featured on BBC North West Tonight), WOZA! (Manchester International Festival Live).

The workshop took place via Zoom.
