Manchester makers SoSatsuma create gorgeous big bold knits in indulgent yarns. In this 3 hour workshop you’ll learn contemporary chunky knitting, under the expert guidance of experienced workshop leader Clementine.
You will make a beautiful chunky knitted headband to take away with you, using a traditional single pointed needle method. Knitting this wonderfully simple design will leave you with all the skills and inspiration you need to go on to create your own beautiful contemporary pieces.
SoSatsuma is a small family run business founded by Clementine to fulfil her need for big contemporary knitwear. Driven by her love for fine yarns her designs are bold and beautiful to wear with a clean contemporary style. Each piece is hand knitted by Clementine or her mum using a traditional single pointed needle method. Hugely passionate about using only the most wearable yarns SoSatsuma design their knitwear with selected Alpaca, merino and cashmere.
This event is part of Manchester Folk Festival – a celebration of English folk in all its forms, from indie to traditional, familiar names alongside exciting new voices. From 19-22 October in and around HOME, the whole festival takes place in one area of Manchester over one weekend. The Festival presents an incredible music line-up, as well as craft workshops, film, a proper pub singaround, artists in conversation and a relaxed Festival Hub where you can watch the world go by. Friendly, inclusive and full of opportunities for discovery, it will have the spirit of a festival in a field, in the heart of the city.
