Blue Peter’s The History of Everything + Q&A

We will be joined by legendary presenters Valerie Singleton OBE, Tim Vincent and Peter Duncan and current Blue Peter editor Ewan Vinnicombe to celebrate Blue Peter’s 60th anniversary

On the 16th October 2018, Blue Peter – the world’s longest running children’s show – will be celebrating its 60th birthday. That’s well over 5,000 shows, millions of viewers and hundreds of thousands of badges awarded. Everyone knows Blue Peter, no British childhood is complete without it.

The most famous moments over the last 60 years have been watched again and again; Lulu the elephant, lighting the advent crown and Tracy Island, to name a few. But what about those long-forgotten Blue Peter films and studio items which have become outdated and defunct and are no longer relevant? What can they tell us about how British life has changed over the decades?

The Blue Peter team has searched across their archives and handpicked a selection of the most hilarious, charming and nostalgic clips from the last six decades that uncover the story of Britain today. Covering everything from the first “portable” phones to the “splendid” brand new M4 motorway, from electronic pets controlled by clapping repeatedly to an in-depth demonstration of brand new key card lock technology in hotel rooms, be prepared to witness history like you’ve never seen it before!

Interspersed with chat from some legendary past Blue Peter presenters (and time to ask them questions at the end), you won’t want to miss this hilarious and informative trip down memory lane.
