Wadjda is a young teenage girl in a country where women and girls are prevented by strict behavioral codes from participating in many activities. She wants to ride a bicycle and compete with her friend Abdullah. Her family situation makes it unlikely that she will get the money to buy the bicycle she desires – so she comes up with a novel solution to her problem.
