A (Very) Basic Introduction to Film Studies

Ever sat next to a group of film enthusiasts and thought, “what the heck are they talking about? What’s all this auteur, mise-en-scene, genre, narrative, deep focus vs montage stuff?” If so, this 8 week evening course is here to help. It will introduce a number of the basic approaches and ideas used in film studies. As it is designed specifically for those who have no, or very little, experience of film studies it is a good entry point for anyone who has not attended courses at the Cornerhouse before. Led by Maggie Hoffgen, Freelance film lecturer and regular Cornerhouse contibutor.
