We’ve been nominated for five Manchester Theatre Awards

The shortlist for the largest and most significant theatre awards in the UK outside of London have been announced – and we’ve made the cut…

Our recent production of Arabian Nights has been nominated for Best Production and in the Best Ensemble category. The production’s designer, Hayley Grindle, is up for the Best Design award, as is Amanda Stoodley, who designed Manchester Lines, our summer 2012 site-specific production, at Number One First Street.

Natalie Grady, who appeared as Minnie Gascoigne in our production of D.H. Lawrence’s The Daughter-in-Law, has been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category. Natalie can been seen again with us in our forthcoming production of Mother Courage and Her Children, which runs at The Lowry between Fri 22 Feb – Sat 9 Mar 2013.

Productions in our current re:play Festival at The Lowry have also been nominated. JB Shorts, All the Bens, and The Bubbler, all appear in the Best Fringe category and All the Bens is also shortlisted for Best Ensemble.

Finally, playwright Nick Yardley, who is taking part in our NewScript Night event in re:play at The Lowry this Fri 18 Jan, has been nominated in the Best New Play category for his play Towers of Babel, which ran in last year’s 24:7 Festival.

This year’s Manchester Theatre Awards will be presented in a glittering ceremony at the Opera House in Manchester on Tue 26 March.
