Want to be involved in programming Filmed Up?

Our quaterly NorthWest Filmmaker’s Night Filmed Up  is entirely programmed by a panel of Cornerhouse audience members. Sadly, two of them are moving away so we are looking to recruit two new people to join our programming team.

What does it involve?

Watching a lot of films of course! Discussing them with other members of the panel and together choosing the ones you think would be good to show on the night. In terms of practicalities, the main thing you need to consider is if you have the time to do watch the films and meet with the rest of the panel twice after that. For example to programme the September Filmed Up, you will receive your films around 27 July and will have your first meeting the week of 6 August, with a follow up the week after if you haven’t chosen all the films.

Do I need to have any experience?

No but an interest in watching short films is always good as this is a big part of what you will have to do! You need to be willing  to watch the good, the bad and the ugly and give an honest opinion about it (in a constructive manner of course!).  You don’t need to be a filmmaker or have any experience in programming. Members of Cornerhouse team will be on hand to help you navigate the scary world of film programmers and give you advice and guidance should you need or want it.
