Creative Star Katie Harris reviews Home Alone
To get you in the festive spirit this December, the Creative Stars at Cornerhouse have programmed an exclusive showing of the classic Christmas film, Home Alone. We, the Creative Stars, felt the film was a must see at this time of year with its timeless comedy and heartfelt message of the importance of family. A favourite from our childhoods we felt that Home Alone needs to be shown and enjoyed by a new generation of film lovers.
From the director of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Home Alone tells the story of Kevin, the youngest son of a large family. Kevin is accidently left at home while his family go on a Christmas holiday to France. At first he enjoys his new found freedom, but he soon has to defend his home against two bungling burglars using a variety of ingenious booby traps. The film features amazing performances from stars such as Joe Pesci (Goodfellas) Catherine O ‘Hara (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas) and a young Macauley Culkin as Kevin.
The result is a perfect family comedy which both adults and kids of all ages will find hilarious and heart warming. From the slapstick comedy to the touching family reunion this film is a great way to start the festive season. So whether you’re reliving a classic or seeing it for the first time, enjoy Home Alone at Cornerhouse this Christmas.
Home Alone screens Tue 20 Dec at 16:00. Buy your tickets here.
