Robin Hood is coming to town

We’ve still got the wonderful Arabian Nights, our Christmas 2012 production at The Lowry to look forward to, but we’re delighted to announce that Wanted! Robin Hood, written by Charles Way, will be our production at The Lowry for Christmas 2013.

This brand new take on the legendary outlaw of Sherwood Forest, featuring a feisty Marian, is a rollicking fun-filled reworking of the classic adventure tale and is perfect for everyone aged 6 years old and above.

Charles Way was last seen at the Library Theatre Company adapting Charles Dickens’ Hard Times to fantastic reviews in summer 2011, but he is best known for his imaginative and award-winning plays for families which have been performed all over the world and translated into a number of languages.

He has a long association with our company, and directed his own adaptation of The Golden Goose for us at Christmas 2006, a production described by The Guardian as “A magical mid-winter adventure.”

Wanted! Robin Hood is scheduled to open on Fri 29 November 2013 and tickets will go on sale on Fri 30 November 2012. Watch this space for more information and great ticket offers, including children’s tickets for just £10 for all performances.
