Project X Spotlight: Josh Wilkinson

Project X invites a group of young creatives to collaborate on a brand new cross-platform project that’ll be showcased at HOME in early 2017. With the scheme in full swing, we caught up with one of Project X team members to find out more about what fuels their creativity…

If you could go back in time, where would you go?

Josh: This is a hard question for me as I’m a big Doctor Who fan, it’s crossed my mind a few times. But if I had to choose one place to travel back to it would be England in the 1800s. I just really want an excuse to wear a top hat.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what one book/piece of music would you take?

Josh: If I was stranded on a desert island I would take a blank book and write a diary ‘The time I was stranded on a desert island’. Then, when I’m rescued, I could sell my story and get a few pounds. The piece of music I would choose would be Mr Blue Sky by ELO.

What has been your most difficult achievement?

Josh: My most difficult achievement to date has been keeping creatively active over the past two years. At the last minuet I decided not to go to university. I knew there were opportunities out there for me, I would just have to work hard to find them. Over the course of the two years I’ve achieved so much, from appearing on CBBC for my first professional TV acting job to becoming a member of Project X.

If you had 24 hours and no travel restrictions, where would you go and what would you do?

Josh: I’d love to visit as many places as possible, but top of my list would have to be New York. Then I’d stop off at Canada to visit my family, and before the day is done I’d like to round it all off with a pizza in Italy.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?

Josh: To my dream dinner party I would invite actor/comedian Robin Williams. He was somebody I looked up to and admired for his energy and passion for his art. Also then I wouldn’t need to hire entertainment for the night.

What would your super power be?

Josh: My super power would be to shape shift. I would love to be a shapeshifter because then I could live through someone else’s eyes. You could learn so much from that, and have lots of fun!

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Josh: “Don’t ruin a good today by thinking about a bad yesterday”.
