Kathryn Hunter nominated for a Manchester Theatre Award

Kathryn Hunter has been nominated for the Best Actress in a Leading Role award in this year’s Manchester Theatre Awards for her astonishing performance in Kafka’s Monkey.

Directed by Walter Meierjohann, our Artistic Director: Theatre, Kafka’s Monkey was one of the stand-out productions in our opening season. Nominated in the Best Actor in a Visiting Production category is Dominic Marsh, who last September played scheming criminal Macheath in Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other Love Songs), presented by Kneehigh with Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse.

HOME productions have also been shortlisted twice in the Best Design category, for The Oresteia (Designer Laura Hopkins; Lighting Designer Lee Curran; Sound Designer Emma Laxton), and Inkheart (Designer Stéphane Laimé; Assistant Designer & Costume Designer Karoline Bierner; Lighting Designer Mike Gunning; Sound Designer Paul Gregory; Video Designer Jim Dawson).

We are delighted that this year’s Manchester Theatre Award ceremony, hosted by Justin Moorhouse, will be staged in our main theatre on Friday 4 March. Click here for the full list of nominations and more information on the event. Good luck to all our nominees, and also all the other nominees!
