HOME are thrilled to announce a brand-new partnership with leading production company Northern SISTER.
The exciting partnership will connect Northern SISTER to HOME’s extensive creative and artist development networks, reaching young people who might not have considered a career in TV production.
To celebrate the partnership, Northern SISTER hosted a free event at HOME on Thu 14 Mar, inviting young people aged 16 and over with an interest in TV and film production to an exclusive preview screening of its new ITV series PASSENGER. Following the screening, guests had the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with key production staff to gain insight into their career paths within the industry. Panellists included Series Producer Sumrah Mohammed, Script Editor Theo Schofield, Production Secretary Savannah Hayward, and was hosted by Shaunna O’ Brien, Northern SISTER’s Development Editor.
Independent, global entertainment group SISTER launched Northern SISTER in 2021. Led by Creative Director Lucy Dyke (Black Mirror, The Split), Northern SISTER strives to establish relations with writers, producers, and creative talent across the north of England.
HOME is equally committed to supporting emerging and local artistic talent – our public-facing programme is underpinned by established creative and artist development work that has a strong focus on education, artist development and wellbeing. HOME’s dedicated creative development team specialise in working with young people and communities that are under-represented in the arts.
Shaunna O’ Brien, Development Editor, Northern SISTER comments “At Northern Sister we are guided by our desire to find bold new voices that have yet to be heard and offer up spaces where their stories can be told. An ethos and mission that aligns so closely with HOME which is such a vital hub for creativity in the North of England. The work they are doing to support emerging artists is something that has resonated strongly with us, and we’re so excited to be utilising this partnership to engage with the next generation of local talent.”
Karen O’Neill, Executive Director at HOME comments “At HOME, we are excited to be partnering with Northern SISTER: a collaboration that celebrates our shared commitment to diversifying representation in the arts and creative industries. As a charity, corporate partnerships are vital in achieving our mission, and we look forward to working together to provide opportunities that showcase the breadth of careers available in TV production to the next generation of talent from across Greater Manchester.”
