We love a good party. That’s why we dedicated an entire weekend to celebrating our very first birthday and invited all of you lovely people along for the ride.
Couldn’t make it? No worries. Here’s a round-up of our best birthday bits…
One of our birthday highlights this year was a very special performance of Late Night Love from the quirky comedy trio, Eggs Collective. While we had the girls in our neck of the woods, we couldn’t resist inviting them to get involved with the birthday fun. Here’s what they cooked up…
On Saturday the party really started and what better way to kick things off than with a little live music? Thankfully, local talents John Kenzie and Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine band were on hand to get toes tapping and hands clapping. Looks fun, right? It was.
Manchester String Quartet
Saturday afternoon called for something a little classier. So while we kicked back to enjoy some bubbly and a slice of cake, Manchester String Quartet were kind enough to take us through the day to the evening’s festivities. Special stuff.
Sunday was our family day, which meant it was time to get crafty. Our puppetry workshop invited kids big and small to put their ingenuity to the test and breathe life into everyday objects. Cereal boxes became robots, egg cartons became people and fun was had all round.
One of our favourite presents this year was the brief pocket of sunshine we received on Sunday afternoon. It couldn’t have came at a better time either – as Gypsies of Bohemia strummed their folky tones and our hip-hop dance workshop danced in the cafe, the beams poured in. Glorious.
This was the biggie. At 17:00 on Sunday we all gathered in the foyer for a our official birthday extravaganza. Songs were sung, confetti was fired and cakes were snaffled. There was even a speech or two. It was so much fun, we may even do it all again next year.
