Booking for ¡Viva! 2012 is now fully open! The 18th edition of our annual fiesta features the very best in comedy, drama and documentary filmmaking, as well UK premieres and special guest Q&As.
And we’re delighted to announce our second festival guest this year, the young Catalan filmmaker Carles Torras, who will be here to discuss his latest film Open 24H. Not only will he be taking questions from the audience after the screening on Fri 9 Mar, he’ll also bring his wealth of filmmaking experience to the Catalan language discussion Café Els Quatre Gats on Sun 11 Mar.
For fans of Latin American cinema, don’t miss La Mirada invisible the latest work from acclaimed Argentine director Diego Lerman, who first impressed audiences here with Suddenly back in 2002. To see if this is for you check out the insightful review of the film by the LiveWire Young Film Critic James Martin here. Enjoy!
And don’t forget the fun doesn’t end with our screenings and talks. Upstairs in Gallery 1, Mexican artist Minerva Cuevas will present a selection of new work for her solo exhibition Landings. And the café bar will be celebrating ¡Viva! with a range of delicious Spanish specialities.
Have a great festival! ¡Disfrutad el festival!
