Bird’s Eye View of the HOME site

We’ve got two great aerial shots of HOME, taken by Wates Construction. They’re taken from the top of one of the tower cranes on the site.

In the shot above, you can see the  construction of Theatre 1. You can really start to get a feel for the size of the space. In the area to the left of the main theatre you can see the goods lift that will service the cafe bar (the concrete shaft). On the ground floor in this space there will also be dressing rooms, toilets and a goods entrance. To the right of the main theatre, you can see a series of scaffolding towers. These cover the area that will consist of public toilets and the back office for our Box Office.

When we start constructing the first floor, Theatre 2 will cover the space where the scaffolding towers are. To the front of this area you can see where Box Office will be. To the left of Box Office, in front of Theatre 1, you can also just make out an area with a wood frame around it. This is where the main staircase will come through the building.

Wates -GalleryIn the second photo, you can clearly see the curve of the gallery space. Where the window frames are positioned at the top of the curved wall is where our office will be on the first floor .

You can also get a good view of the Theatre 2 area in this photo. The entrance to the gallery space will be just to the right of this.
