A fun time was had this morning at the Pig and Barrel stall at the Christmas market in Albert Square as the cast gathered to launch A Christmas Carol to the Manchester media.
Performing the opening song of the show, followed by the first scene – in which Scrooge (David Beames) tells Bob Cratchit (Jack Lord) that he has to work a full day, Christmas eve or not – the cast were put through their paces by director Rachel O’Riordan. As the cast sang at full voice, a crowd of inquisitive Christmas shoppers built up to watch what was going on.
Rachel and the cast were then interviewed by the media, while those present munched a warm mince pie and partook of an early morning mug of hot mulled wine. Yummy!
