¡Viva! Festival!

¡Viva! Spanish and Latin American Film Festival is back with a bang this March with a whole range of interesting new movies that should cater to all tastes. From action (La Hora Cero) to comedy (Primos), from stylish period drama (Pajaros de Papel) to re-released classics (The Hunt), there is something for everyone. If you don’t know if foreign film is your thing, or haven’t watched one before, here is a perfect opportunity to find a genre you like and give the movie a go. LiveWire members can buy a ticket for any film at just £3; and these are movies that you most likely won’t get another chance to see (as the majority haven’t been given a general release in the UK yet).

If you want to see one of the movies on offer, but are unsure of which one to go for, you can find a brief synopsis of each film on the ¡Viva! website or in the booklet. James Martin, our LiveWire Film Critic recommends is Pajaros de Papel – a wonderful period drama set during the Spanish Civil War. A story of great friendship and survival, it tells a classic, moving story with incredible panache.

We hope you all enjoy the festival and get the opportunity to watch some good films. See them while you can!
