The National Theatre Live experience – your thoughts

For those that didn’t make it to our first National Theatre Live broadcast earlier this month you missed a treat. Rory Kinnear put on a brilliant performance as Hamlet and the whole thing was shot up close in High Definition – it really was a impressive production. Watching theatre on the big screen did seem a little weird to start with but you soon got used to it and were engrossed in the action.

Don’t just take our word for it. This is what you had to say about it…

Listen!

National Theatre Live is a groundbreaking initiative to broadcast the best of British theatre to cinemas. And we have plenty more performances coming live to Cinema 1 in the new year. Next up is Afrobeat sensation FELA! on the 13th January 2011. It’s had some fabulous reviews already and with the recent sold-out Femi Kuti gig at Band on the Wall it’s set to be popular so book early. And if you’re still struggling for Christmas present ideas why not grab a couple of tickets for theatre loving family and friends!

Here’s a flavour of what you can expect…

Our other NTLive performances include Donmar Warehouse’s King Lear, Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard and our very own patron Danny Boyle’s thrilling new production of Frankenstein.
