Emma has been through a lot lately. If it’s not strangers commenting on her weight or asking “when are you due?”, then it’s her own reflection that’s bringing her down. Now it’s time to take up space on her own terms. To be Emma as loud and as proud as she can be.
Armed with a guitar, original songs and a fridge full of drinks, Fat Girl Singing is a funny, uplifting and compelling anthem for those who have ever felt that their body is up for debate. A call to arms for anyone who doesn’t fit the model.
Fat Girl Singing was co-commissioned by hAb and Contact for Works Ahead 2018 and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

“A well-polished and carefully structured show… An hour of inspiring theatre… I see you Emma Geraghty. And I hope many more people do too.” – Reviewer Number 9
“I defy anyone not to be completely transfixed with FGS and in particular Emma Geraghty…. Often funny, sometimes melancholic, always engaging.” – Caught in the Act
