The Nothing Factory

Directed by Pedro Pinho

This elegiac epic from Portuguese filmmaker Pedro Pinho chronicles a bitter labour dispute sparked by the closure of a factory on the outskirts of Lisbon. Shot in 16mm, the film reflects on the plight of the working classes and how traditional employment roles are shifting. A challenging but rewarding experience with echoes of Godard at his most political.
