Paradigm Screenings presents Human

Directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand

“I am one man among seven billion others. For the past 40 years, I have been photographing our planet and its human diversity, and I have the feeling that humanity is not making any progress. We can’t always manage to live together. Why is that? I didn’t look for an answer in statistics or analysis, but in man himself.” Yann Arthus-Bertrand

Driven by questions about what makes us human, environmental filmmaker Yann Arthus-Bertrand – famous for his aerial phototography in Earth from Above (1999) and cinematography in his film Home (2009) –  spent 3 years collecting real-life stories from 2,000 women and men in 60 countries, capturing human experience at a deeply personal, emotional level; love, happiness, our reactions to the challenges of poverty, war, homophobia…our hopes and fears about the future of our planet.
