Welcome to our Community Languages programme for 2011 – 2012
Throughout the year we have a variety of Community Language study sessions specially programmed to support GCSE students of Urdu, Arabic and Mandarin. All our study sessions are led by native language speakers and film experts and provide students with the opportunity to develop language skills through access to contemporary film.
In this joint project delivered by Cornerhouse and Routes Into Languages North West (COLT), students are offered cinema-based study sessions that encourage engagement with moving image and language. The project also provides professional development opportunities for teachers wanting to deliver film-related, language learning sessions.
