We celebrate the launch of our summer exhibition with a riotous fusion of Manchester meets modern Brazil, featuring live music, DJs, BBQ food and cocktails. Manchester based nine-piece band Riot Jazz will start proceedings in Tony Wilson Place, with a brass-boosted set taking in the Balkans to Brooklyn, via Latin America. Then the doors to Behind the Sun: Prêmio Marcantônio Vilaça CNI SESI SENAI will open. Gathering five distinctive artists reflecting the diversity and complexity of contemporary Brazil, this will be a first chance to see the exhibition. The party will continue into the night with DJs, caipirinhas and an outdoor BBQ.
