Join our Community Chorus

This spring, we’re calling out for people to join the cast of our production of The Oresteia and form a community Chorus of Spoken Voices, representing the people of Manchester.

The Oresteia – Aeschylus’ great masterpiece, tells a thrilling tale of murderous revenge within a royal family and the journey from bloody rituals to a system of justice. Written two and a half thousand years ago, it is as gripping and relevant as ever.

We are looking for a chorus of 40 people to support this exciting production. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a unique staging of a classic play, work with a team of industry professionals and develop your own performance skills.

To take part you must be:

  • aged 18 or over
  • willing to attend regular weekly evening rehearsals from Jun to Oct
  • able to commit to four performances a week from 23 Oct – 14 Nov
  • confident with speaking as part of a group
  • committed, enthusiastic and prepared for a challenge

We will be holding informal audition workshops on Sat 25 Apr from 13:00. And we have a second audition date confirmed for Mon 18 May specifically for participants wanting to join our male chorus. To register your place at the audition or for further information, please email jennie.mccusker@homemcr.org or call 0161 212 3480.

Places are limited so get in touch early to avoid disappointment.
